Silverscreen: Hollywood Studio Tycoon
Silverscreen: Hollywood Studio Tycoon
The golden age doesn't build itself.
You have inherited a failing Hollywood studio. The lot is run-down, the debt is real, and nobody in the industry expects you to last the year. It is 1925. The movies are silent, the budgets are small, and the competition is ruthless.
Build it anyway.
Silverscreen is a Hollywood studio tycoon game set during the golden age of cinema, 1925 to 1960. Greenlight pictures, manage your creative team, navigate the politics of an industry in constant upheaval, and turn a struggling studio into a Hollywood legend.
How it works
Every year you greenlight one picture. Choose your story and genre carefully — some combinations resonate with audiences, others fall flat, and you will only learn which is which by making films. Allocate your production budget across writing, casting, cinematography, direction, and marketing. Build audience hype before release. Then watch the reviews come in.
A great picture builds reputation, attracts better talent, and opens doors. A disaster sets you back months. There are no guaranteed hits in Hollywood.

The era
1925 to 1960 covers the most dramatic period in Hollywood history. Silent films give way to talkies. Depression-era audiences demand escapism. The war changes everything. Television threatens to make movies obsolete. Every decade brings new technology, new censorship battles, new opportunities, and new threats. Your strategy has to evolve or your studio will not survive.
Can you take a failing studio and build a Hollywood empire? The golden age is waiting.
